NDA Sweeps Bihar, Nitish Kumar Set for 10th Term as Chief Minister

The people of Bihar have delivered a resounding mandate to the NDA, paving the way for Nitish Kumar to assume the Chief Minister’s post for a record 10th time.

The ‘INDIA’ bloc has been virtually wiped out in the state, with voters overwhelmingly rejecting its candidates.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reacting to the results, remarked that the people of Bihar “created a storm at the ballot box.”

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also expressed deep gratitude to the electorate for the historic victory, thanking the citizens of Bihar for their unwavering trust.

He further extended his thanks to Prime Minister Modi for his support throughout the campaign.

Out of the 243 Assembly seats, nearly 84% have gone to the NDA.

In stark contrast, the INDIA bloc has suffered a crushing defeat, securing only 35 seats—with RJD winning 25, Congress 6, CPI-ML 2, CPI(M) 1, and IIP 1. The CPI failed to open its account.

Outside the two major alliances, AIMIM repeated its 2020 performance by winning five seats.

Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, despite a high-profile campaign, failed to make any impact and did not win a single seat.

Defying all predictions of a close contest, the NDA has handed the Mahagathbandhan a decisive and sweeping defeat.

Nitish Kumar said, “The people of Bihar have placed immense faith in our government by giving us this overwhelming majority.

My heartfelt salute and gratitude to every voter. I also thank Prime Minister Modi for his consistent support.”

This massive victory is the result of the hard work of all party workers. Your continuous support, dedication, and forward-looking efforts will now place Bihar among the most rapidly developing states of the country, said Nitish Kumar.

This triumph not only strengthens the BJP’s organisational strategy but also reaffirms the credibility of the party’s leadership.

The people of Bihar have once again shown great trust and faith, and it is this trust that brought the NDA back with a historic mandate, said Nitish while thanking the voters.

Amit Shah camped in Bihar for 19 days, tirelessly coordinating with local workers and strategising round the clock.

His efforts helped secure more than 100 seats for the coalition, silencing critics who had predicted unrest after Nitish Kumar broke ties with the INDIA bloc and returned to the NDA fold.

For the BJP, this decision had been strategically planned well in advance, ensuring a stable and coordinated governance model.

Nitish Kumar has now emerged as one of the strongest political figures in the country.

His governance, welfare policies, and development model played a crucial role in ensuring that the NDA crossed the 200-seat mark.

Even in rural and remote regions, voters overwhelmingly favoured the NDA, firm in the belief that the alliance would ensure Bihar’s future.

On the other hand, the INDIA bloc struggled even to retain its traditional vote banks.

The combined presence of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Mukesh Sahni failed to revive their fortunes.

Despite their aggressive campaigning, the voters did not accept their narrative.

The electorate repeatedly questioned what alternative vision they were offering. They failed not only to provide answers but also to present a united front.

This verdict will be remembered as historic. Constituencies that were once considered strongholds of the opposition witnessed a decisive shift towards the NDA.

Even in seats where margins were previously low, the NDA recorded leads of up to 50,000 votes. This clearly reflects a tectonic shift in Bihar’s political landscape.

Political analysts believe this mandate surpasses even the 1977 and 2020 results in terms of impact and significance.

From first-time voters to women and the elderly, every section of society contributed to this overwhelming verdict. The message is loud and clear — the people want stable, development-oriented governance.

Despite the INDIA bloc’s claims of momentum, voters dismissed those assertions and instead rewarded the NDA for its work.

The opposition’s campaign, dominated by negativity, failed to resonate. The people chose progress over promises.

The scale of this victory shows that the youth, women, and even communities traditionally leaning towards the opposition have wholeheartedly embraced the NDA.

For the next five years, this mandate will guide Bihar’s development and stability. A new chapter begins for the state — a chapter filled with expectations, aspirations, and renewed hope.
