NEET UG 2025 Counselling Round-2: Five New Disability Certification Centres Added, AIIMS Mangalagiri Dropped from List

4

In an important development for the ongoing NEET UG 2025 Round-2 counselling, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has made key updates regarding disability certification centres for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates.

One major change is the removal of AIIMS Mangalagiri from the official list of designated centres. The institute informed MCC that it currently lacks the necessary infrastructure and facilities to function as a fully operational disability certification centre.

To ensure smooth facilitation for PwD candidates, MCC has promptly added five new medical colleges and hospitals to the list of authorised disability certification centres.

 Newly Added Disability Certification Centres

These centres will now serve as officially recognised facilities where differently-abled candidates can obtain valid disability certificates, a mandatory requirement for availing PwD quota benefits during counselling. Candidates are required to carry their UDID card along with all essential supporting documents when visiting these centres.

 Important Counselling Deadlines

The PwD portal will remain accessible until 12 PM (noon) today, allowing candidates to update or upload their disability certification details.

In addition, MCC has also released the Round-2 seat matrix, which includes:

  • 1,134 new MBBS and BDS seats
  • 7,088 virtual vacancy seats
  • 13,501 clear vacancy seats

This update reflects a significant increase in available seats, thereby expanding opportunities for medical aspirants nationwide.

The deadline for Round-2 registration and fee payment is set for 9 September 2025.

  • The registration link will remain active until 12 PM (noon).
  • The payment window will close at 3 PM on the same day.

 Why This Update Matters

For thousands of PwD candidates, these newly designated centres mean greater accessibility, smoother certification processes, and inclusive participation in NEET UG 2025 counselling. The move by MCC has been widely welcomed as it ensures that candidates with disabilities do not face unnecessary hurdles during the admission process.

This proactive step underscores MCC’s commitment to equal opportunities in medical education and marks a positive shift towards a more inclusive and supportive counselling system.
