PRAYAGRAJ: The Allahabad Medical Association (AMA) held its oath-taking ceremony on Saturday at the AMA auditorium, where members of the newly elected executive committee formally assumed their responsibilities.
The event marked a symbolic passing of the torch to a new team committed to advancing the association’s legacy of medical excellence and community service.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. S. C. Gupta, former Head of the ENT Department at Motilal Nehru Medical College, who served as the chief guest.
During the event, outgoing president Dr. J. V. Rai ceremonially handed over the mantle of leadership to the newly elected president, ENT specialist Dr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, by changing the association’s collar badge.
In his address, Dr. Mishra pledged to uphold and further the rich legacy of the AMA, emphasizing teamwork and social responsibility.
“With our dynamic young team, we will soon complete key initiatives such as the old-age home and blood bank project at Nandan Kanan,” he said. “I will work with full dedication and integrity to strengthen the AMA and elevate it into a national-level medical organization.”
The newly formed executive committee includes:

- Dr. Rajeev Gautam – Joint Finance Secretary
- Dr. Santosh Singh – Joint Secretary
- Dr. Abhinav Agrawal – Assistant Secretary
