New Hope for Women Cancer Patients in Prayagraj: Cant Hospital Launches Dedicated Treatment Facility
Prayagraj: A new ray of hope has emerged for women battling cancer in Prayagraj, with Cant Hospital opening a dedicated facility for cancer treatment and surgeries focused on women’s reproductive health. Until now, Kamla Nehru Hospital was the only government facility where cancer treatment for women was available.
However, treatment there was limited mainly to chemotherapy, and dozens of patients queued up daily, often facing overcrowding, delays, and complaints of alleged mistreatment or rude behavior by staff towards patients and their attendants.
With the launch of Cant Hospital’s new facility, this monopoly of limited care is set to end. Patients will now have an alternative option where not just chemotherapy but also advanced cancer surgeries will be carried out with proper expertise.
Specialist Oncologist Joins Cant Hospital
The hospital has brought on board Dr. Vaishali Paliwal, a renowned specialist in gynecologic oncology. Dr. Vaishali currently serves at Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, and has studied in England with prior experience at one of Mumbai’s top cancer hospitals.
She will attend to cancer patients at Cant Hospital twice a week. On Saturdays, she will consult patients in the OPD, while on Sundays, surgeries related to gynecological cancers will be performed. This arrangement ensures that patients in Prayagraj no longer need to travel to big cities for specialized cancer care.
Better Reputation, Better Care
According to Siddharth Pandey, Director of Cant Hospital, this is the first time that a well-known expert of such stature is available to treat female cancer patients in the city.
Unlike the troubled image of Kamla Nehru Hospital, Cant Hospital has a comparatively better reputation for patient care, professional conduct, and efficiency in handling cases. It also has a well-trained team of doctors who will support Dr. Vaishali in delivering comprehensive treatment.
With this step, cancer treatment in Prayagraj leaps forward—not just in terms of medical facilities but also in restoring dignity and compassion in patient care.
