Nine Naxalites gunned down in Chattisgarh State

Nine Naxalites were shot dead in an encounter with security forces in Bastar Chattisgarh in the state of Jharkhand on Tuesday.

Thirteen Naxals were arrested following this encounter.
Large quantities of arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
IG Bastar informed district reserved guards and CROF had ventured jointly in a drive against Naxalites.
The armed Naxalites started firing at the security forces around 10.30 am on the borders of Dantewada and Bijapur.
Returning the fire security forces gunned down nine Naxalites.
After this, the Cobra battalion, district reserve guards, and men from the special task force launched a search operation that culminated in the nabbing of thirteen Naxalites.
Six naxals were arrested from the Tarek police station area and seven of them were arrested from the Ganglur police station adjoining areas
