No loudspeakers at Mosque, Temple… UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during a high-level review meeting on Wednesday at the Circuit House, emphasized the need to implement permanent noise control measures for loudspeakers used at religious places. He directed officials to strictly regulate the use of sound systems, ensuring that they do not cause disturbances to the public. Additionally, he reiterated that high-volume DJs would not be permitted during Holi celebrations, instructing the administration to enforce these regulations diligently. The move aims to maintain peace and harmony during the festival while ensuring compliance with existing noise pollution guidelines.
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister also focused on strengthening security measures across the state. He directed officials to install CCTV cameras at strategic locations, particularly banks, financial institutions, major marketplaces, and commercial establishments. This initiative is expected to enhance public safety, deter criminal activities, and help law enforcement agencies monitor high-risk areas more effectively.
Taking a firm stand against illegal cattle smuggling, Adityanath ordered intensified surveillance and stern action against those involved in such unlawful activities. He warned that not only would cattle smugglers face strict legal consequences, but vehicle owners transporting smuggled cattle, as well as any law enforcement personnel found complicit, would also be held accountable. To ensure effective enforcement of the state’s complete ban on cattle smuggling, he assigned Additional Director General (ADG) of Police, Zone Piyush Mordia, to conduct district-wise reviews. This measure aims to curb the illegal cattle trade and reinforce adherence to the state’s regulations.
The Chief Minister also underscored the importance of expediting various development projects currently underway in the state. Expressing concern over delays in certain infrastructure projects, he instructed officials to identify the reasons for the slow progress and take corrective measures. To ensure the timely completion of these projects, he mandated the appointment of nodal officers responsible for overseeing each under-construction initiative. These officers are required to conduct weekly inspections, assess the status of work, and submit regular progress reports. The CM emphasized that while accelerating the work, maintaining high standards of quality should remain a priority.
With the summer season approaching, Adityanath directed officials to take proactive steps to ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water across the state. The administration was tasked with implementing necessary measures to prevent water shortages and make adequate provisions for public convenience. The CM’s focus on water supply highlights his commitment to addressing seasonal challenges and ensuring that residents do not face hardships during the peak summer months.
To enhance the aesthetics of the state’s urban infrastructure, the Chief Minister proposed the beautification of flyover pillars with artistic paintings and high-quality advertisements. This initiative is expected to not only improve the visual appeal of the cityscape but also promote local culture and heritage through artwork. Encouraging creative and organized urban development, Adityanath stressed that all beautification projects should align with the city’s overall aesthetic vision and maintain cleanliness in public spaces.
Recognizing the need to support small-scale vendors and street hawkers, the Chief Minister directed officials to establish sufficient vending zones in urban areas. The initiative aims to provide designated spaces for street vendors to conduct business in an organized manner without causing traffic congestion or inconvenience to pedestrians. This move is expected to benefit thousands of hawkers by offering them legal and structured spaces for their livelihoods.
In addition to urban development and law enforcement measures, the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on the welfare of farmers. He instructed officials to ensure that all wheat procurement centers provide affordable meals, free drinking water, and proper seating arrangements for farmers visiting these centers. To facilitate smooth procurement operations, he stressed the need for proper infrastructure and adequate staff at these centers. The District Magistrate, in response to the CM’s directives, confirmed that wheat procurement would commence on March 17 at a fixed rate of Rs 2,425 per quintal across 36 procurement centers in the district. This move aims to provide fair pricing and better facilities to farmers, thereby strengthening the state’s agricultural economy.
Through these directives, CM Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, expediting developmental projects, supporting farmers, and ensuring the welfare of urban and rural communities. The implementation of these measures is expected to contribute to a more secure, organized, and progressive Uttar Pradesh.
