Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured citizens that there is adequate availability of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas across the state, urging the public not to be influenced by rumours suggesting a shortage of LPG supplies.

He instructed officials to guarantee that consumers who have already booked cylinders receive their refills within the prescribed timeframe as per existing rules.

He also emphasized that consumers should be informed in advance about the expected delivery date of their next LPG refill so that unnecessary anxiety or confusion can be avoided.

Public Should Not Panic Over Rumours

The chief minister stated that the situation on the ground is not as difficult as some rumours circulating through various channels are portraying.

He directed oil companies to maintain close coordination with the state administration and regularly provide the public with accurate information regarding LPG supply and distribution.

Yogi Adityanath also noted that the central government is making all necessary efforts to ensure that fuel supply chains across the country continue to function normally.

District-Level Monitoring to Continue

The chief minister instructed district administrations to remain vigilant and closely monitor the supply situation across all districts.

He directed that a dedicated control room be set up within the Food and Civil Supplies Department to oversee LPG distribution and address any emerging issues promptly.

Additionally, he asked officials to maintain regular communication with hostels, dharamshalas, hospitals, hotels, and various commercial establishments.

These institutions have been encouraged to explore and temporarily adopt alternative fuel options where possible to reduce pressure on LPG demand.

Strict Action Against Black Marketing

Yogi Adityanath issued strict warnings against black marketing and hoarding of LPG cylinders.

He stated that if any distributor, agency, or individual is found involved in illegal stockpiling or black market activities, an FIR should be registered immediately, and stringent legal action must be taken.

To maintain order and transparency in the distribution process, he also directed that police personnel may be deployed at LPG distribution centres if necessary, ensuring that cylinders are supplied to consumers smoothly and without disruption.

Chief Secretary Warns Against Misinformation

He instructed district administrations to strictly curb black marketing and illegal sale of cooking gas cylinders.

On Thursday, the state government issued a formal order to all district magistrates directing them to remain alert and take immediate action if any irregularities are detected in fuel supply or distribution.

Monitoring Social Media for False Information

The order further instructed authorities to keep a close watch on misleading messages and videos circulating on social media platforms or other channels that may spread confusion or panic among the public.
