PM Modi Hails Armed Forces and ‘Made-in-India’ Power in First ‘Mann Ki Baat’ After Operation Sindoor
In his first address to the nation through the monthly “Mann Ki Baat” radio broadcast since the launch of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday commended the Indian Armed Forces for their remarkable precision strikes on terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
He attributed the mission’s successful execution to the bravery of soldiers and the growing strength of indigenously developed weapons and technology under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India).
“Our brave soldiers not only eliminated terror hubs, but they did so with extraordinary courage and the support of equipment, weapons, and technology developed right here in India,” said the Prime Minister.
“This success reflects the growing might of our indigenous defence capabilities and the national resolve toward becoming self-reliant.”
A Call to Support Local Products
During his address, Modi went beyond military achievements to highlight a broader trend of increasing public participation in the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
He noted that more Indian citizens are now making conscious efforts to buy domestically manufactured products — whether it’s toys for children, gifts, or even choosing to celebrate weddings and vacations within India.
“This growing connection between people’s hearts and the spirit of nationalism is the true strength of our nation,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
“Let us all resolve to prioritize Indian-made products in our daily lives. This is not merely a step towards economic independence, but a heartfelt contribution to the journey of nation-building.”
Operation Sindoor: A Symbol of National Resolve
Speaking about Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, Modi described it as a decisive and powerful military campaign that significantly weakened terror infrastructure across the border.
The Prime Minister said the operation sparked a wave of patriotic enthusiasm throughout the nation.
“The precision with which our forces carried out this operation is commendable,” Modi noted. “Operation Sindoor is more than a military campaign — it represents our firm resolve, courage, and the transformation of India into a stronger, more confident nation.”
He added that in the wake of the operation, cities and villages across India witnessed an outpouring of patriotic fervor with citizens organizing Tiranga Yatras (tricolor rallies) to express unity and support for the Armed Forces.
“The entire country is standing together in the fight against terrorism, determined to eliminate this menace once and for all,” he asserted.
Progress in Maoist-Affected Regions
PM Modi also used his address to shed light on improvements in regions previously affected by Maoist violence, particularly in remote tribal belts.
Highlighting a recent development, he mentioned a village in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra, which has received a bus service for the first time in its history.
“This may seem like a small change to some, but for the people of that village, the arrival of a bus marks the beginning of easier access to education, healthcare, and employment. It is symbolic of the growing reach of development into areas once neglected due to conflict,” he said.
A Message of Collective Strength and Patriotism
Closing his address, the Prime Minister reiterated the importance of unity, self-reliance, and collective national spirit. He encouraged citizens to make conscious choices that align with India’s journey toward progress, development, and self-dependence.
“Every small step you take towards using Indian products, supporting Indian artisans, or choosing Indian destinations contributes to building a stronger, more vibrant India,” Modi said. “Together, our resolve and unity will take the country to greater heights.
