Acting on a complaint filed by a BJP leader, the district court, Prayagraj on Monday issued notice to Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh and asked him to file reply, fixing August 23 as next date of hearing. According to the complaint, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had reportedly issued a statement just days before the vote counting of Lok Sabha election, wherein he had alleged that that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah had contacted 150 district magistrates (DMs) on phone and asked them to ensure the BJP’s victory in the coming Lok Sabha vote counting.
In the complaint filed by Sushil Kumar Mishra, state legal convenor of BJP in court of additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM), it has been stated that senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had on June 1, 2024 made false allegation against union home minister Amit Shah without having any valid evidence. The statement was available there on the official twitter of Jairam Ramesh.
According to complainant, immediately after the aforesaid statement of Jairam Ramesh, he had moved a complaint before the election commission of India (ECI). Acting on his complaint, the ECI issued notice to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asking him to provide detailed information about his  claim that outgoing Union Home Minister Amit Shah contacted 150 district magistrates across the country just days before the vote counting.
However, the complainant stated even after the issuance of notice to Jairam Ramesh by ECI, nothing concrete happened. Hence, he had no option but to file the present complaint before the additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) of district court, Prayagraj.
