President Murmu Highlights ‘Ram Rajya’ Ideals as Blueprint for India’s Growth at Ayodhya Temple Event

President Droupadi Murmu, on her visit to Ram Temple in Ayodhya, stated that the principles of Ram Rajya—defined by fairness, respect, and social harmony—should guide India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.

During the ceremony marking the installation of the Shri Ram Yantra in the sanctum on the temple’s second level, Murmu described her visit as a deeply spiritual experience.

She referred to the temple as a powerful symbol of India’s cultural revival and civilisational pride.

The President pointed out that the scene of Lord Ram returning to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana is illustrated in the original handwritten Constitution of India.

She said this reflects a conscious effort to connect the nation’s constitutional ideals with its rich cultural heritage.

She noted that the Constitution features a detailed artistic depiction of Lord Ram’s homecoming with Sita and Lakshman at the start of Part III, which focuses on Fundamental Rights.

Murmu expressed satisfaction that awareness about this artwork is spreading widely, helping people connect with both constitutional values and sacred traditions.

Murmu also emphasized the connection between devotion and patriotism, stating that paying respect to Lord Ram is equivalent to serving the nation.

She added that the sentiment behind devotional chants for Lord Ram is the same spirit that inspires the singing of the national song “Vande Mataram.”

Calling her trip to Ayodhya a rare honor, the President recalled that Lord Ram himself had described his birthplace as more precious than heaven.

Marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada and the commencement of Navratri, she extended her greetings to Indians worldwide and noted that the upcoming Ram Navami would be celebrated with great enthusiasm.

Referring to key milestones such as the foundation-laying ceremony, the consecration of Ram Lalla, and the opening of the temple complex, Murmu described these events as historic moments in India’s journey.

She also recalled writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the consecration, calling it the dawn of a new phase of national resurgence.

Highlighting the importance of inclusiveness, Murmu said the vision of a developed India by 2047 aligns with the ideals of Ram Rajya, where no individual faces poverty or suffering.

She noted that more than 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty and stressed the need to sustain such progress.

Drawing inspiration from episodes in the Ramayana, including Lord Ram’s interactions with figures like Shabari and Nishad Raj, she said these stories reflect compassion and inclusivity.

She added that present-day policies focusing on social justice, environmental protection, and animal welfare resonate with these enduring values.

Quoting the phrase “Ramo Vigrahavan Dharma,” Murmu said Lord Ram embodies righteousness itself and encouraged citizens to follow ethical principles in both personal and public life.

During her visit, the President also toured the Sapt Mandir within the complex and offered prayers at shrines dedicated to revered personalities such as Shabari, Nishad Raj, Ahilya, and sages like Vashishtha, Valmiki, Vishwamitra, and Agastya.

Describing Ayodhya as a major center of religious tourism, Murmu said the temple has already attracted millions of devotees from across India and abroad.

She praised the artisans and workers behind the construction, comparing their craftsmanship to divine inspiration.

In her concluding remarks, she called for unity through devotion, promoting the idea of “Ram in every home” as a pathway to national development.

She reiterated that true reverence for Lord Ram is reflected in service to the nation, linking spiritual faith with nation-building.

Murmu also mentioned that the Shri Ram Yantra installed in the temple was provided by the Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth, symbolizing the continuity of ancient spiritual traditions within Sanatan Dharma.

She concluded by expressing hope that Ayodhya will inspire India’s rise on the global stage, adding that the nation’s aspirations will be fulfilled with the blessings of Lord Ram.
