President Murmu urges women to work hard to achieve dreams:
President of India, Draupadi Murmu, encouraged women to be courageous, dream ambitiously, and harness their full strength and potential to achieve their aspirations.
Arriving at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Airport in Bengaluru on Friday, President Murmu was received warmly by Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. She was in the city as the chief guest for the 10th International Women’s Conference, organized by The Art of Living International Center.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Lieutenant General J K Gera, Karnataka Director General of Police Alok Mohan, Secretary of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Satyavathi G, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda, and Bengaluru District Collector Jagadeesh G, along with other senior officials.
Speaking at the conference, President Murmu emphasized that breaking barriers and defying stereotypes requires mental strength. She urged women to embrace courage, set ambitious goals, and maximize their capabilities in pursuit of their dreams. “Every small step you take towards your goal contributes to a more developed India and a better world,” she remarked.
She highlighted the advancements in technology that have improved the quality of life while stressing the importance of preserving human values. “In this highly competitive era, we must make conscious efforts to uphold values like compassion, love, and unity. Women play a vital role in this process, as they have a unique ability to lead with empathy. Their perspective extends beyond individual needs, focusing on the well-being of families, communities, and even global harmony,” she added.
Expressing confidence in the impact of the conference, President Murmu stated, “I believe the women participating in this event will gain spiritual insights that can be applied to enhance not only their own lives but also the lives of those around them, fostering peace and beauty.”
She further emphasized that such gatherings reinforce the idea that individuals are not isolated entities but part of an interconnected global community.
Addressing the significance of mental health, President Murmu pointed out that it has become one of the most pressing concerns across all age groups. She particularly acknowledged the unique challenges faced by women, who must balance professional competition, societal expectations, and personal ambitions. “Cultural norms sometimes make it difficult for women to openly discuss their emotional well-being. However, mental wellness is essential for leading a meaningful life and making valuable contributions to family, society, and the world,” she concluded.
