Prime Minister Narendra Modi transfers Rs 22,000 crore into bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers under 19th installment of PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, disbursed more than ₹22,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of approximately 9.8 crore farmers across India under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
This marked the 19th installment of the flagship initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to farmers to support their livelihoods and agricultural endeavors.
In addition to releasing the funds, the Prime Minister also inaugurated multiple developmental projects in the state of Bihar, further reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructure growth and agricultural welfare.
Modi was joined at the event by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with several high-profile dignitaries, including Union ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and senior officials from both the state and central government ministries.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of the PM Kisan scheme, which has played a crucial role in enhancing the financial stability of farmers across the country.
He reiterated his government’s unwavering support for the farming community, whom he referred to as India’s ‘annadatas’ (providers of food), highlighting their indispensable contribution to the nation’s economy and food security.
Earlier in the day, Modi took to the social media platform X to express his pride in the farmers of India and reaffirm the government’s dedication to their well-being.
Responding to a thread posted by MyGovIndia, the Prime Minister wrote, “We are proud of our annadatas and our commitment to improve their lives.”
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, launched in 2019, provides eligible farmers with financial aid in the form of direct benefit transfers.
Under the initiative, registered farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments, helping them with agricultural expenses and livelihood needs.
The continuous disbursement of these funds reflects the government’s focus on ensuring economic stability for farmers and boosting the overall agricultural sector.
The event in Bihar also served as a platform for discussing plans aimed at strengthening the agricultural economy, improving irrigation facilities, and developing rural infrastructure.
As the government continues to roll out various initiatives for farmers, the PM Kisan scheme remains one of the most impactful measures, benefitting millions across the country.
