Principal Jai Jalaram School in Godhra, Gujarat, teachers and others had demanded Rs 10 lakh from NEET -UG 2024 Examinees to allow them use of unfair means:

A Gujarat Court has sent four persons into CBI custody till July 2 for their alleged involvement in the ongoing NEET examination controversy. These persons had promised clearance of NEET exam to several students on sum of Rs 10 lakh per examinee.

The accused had asked the examinees to choose Jai Jalaram School in Godhara as centre of examination where they could use unfair means.

The CBI had arrested Principal of the school Purshottam Sharma, teacher Tushar Bhatt, Vibhor Anand and Arif Vohra both middlemen.

The CBI  had not asked for the custody remand of the fifth accused Parushram Rai. At present all the five are behind the bars.

Although police had carried out investigation in this case earlier but the CBI  said it wanted to carry out further investigations .

According to public prosecutor Rajesh Thakor, the District Judge CK Chauhan has given his consent to CBI plea of further remand of the four accused.

According to CBI lawyer Dhruv Malik, preliminary investigations revealed, the Principal of the school and other accused had entered into a pact with some examinees to ensure that the latter did well in the test with good score. They had asked the examinees to choose Jai Jalaram school as their centre so that the examinees could be helped as per the agreement reached between them.

The Gujrat police had arrested five persons last month in connection with the same case.
