Radical Forces Attempt to Ignite Communal Violence in UP; CM Yogi Vows Lifetime-Felt Retribution
PRAYAGRAJ/BAREILLY: The recent violence in Bareilly after Friday prayers was not an accident—it was a calculated attempt by radical elements to exploit religion, manipulate communities, and destabilize the state. Intelligence and police investigations reveal that Maulana Tauqeer Raza orchestrated the unrest, mobilizing at least 77 aides, including municipal councillors, to incite mobs and provoke chaos.
These individuals encouraged people, even families with children, to participate in the unrest, remaining in constant contact with Tauqeer via mobile phones while staying hidden during the actual violence—a clear sign of deliberate instigation.
Authorities have already placed these individuals under strict surveillance, while those involved in past communal disruptions during the CAA–NRC protests remain on the radar.
The police are leaving no stone unturned to identify every conspirator and ensure they face stringent consequences. SSP Bareilly Anurag Arya has categorically stated that no rioter will be spared.
Investigations have also uncovered systematic encroachment on Waqf properties by leaders associated with the IMC (Ittehad-e-Millat Council).
Assets linked to Maulana Tauqeer, Dr. Nafees, Nadeem, Anees Saklaini, and Munir Idrisi are being examined, with the government committed to restoring all properties and prosecuting those responsible.
The conspiracy extended beyond Bareilly. In Fatehpur, provocative “I Love Mohammad” posters were deliberately pasted near a contested temple–mazaar site, attempting to inflame communal tensions.
Social media amplified the effect, prompting the administration to intervene quickly and remove the inflammatory material. In Kanpur, a former traffic constable, dismissed in 2015 for corruption, was arrested for circulating incendiary audio linked to the same campaign.
These actions highlight a dangerous trend: certain radical forces are deliberately trying to replicate Bangladesh- and Nepal-like scenarios, believing that orchestrated violence will further their ideological ambitions.
What they fail to realize is that Uttar Pradesh and India are far stronger than such divisive agendas. These forces underestimate the resilience of the state and the vigilance of law enforcement.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already issued a stern warning: those who attempt to disrupt peace or manipulate religious sentiments will face consequences so severe that they will remember them for a lifetime. The message is clear—Uttar Pradesh will not tolerate attempts to exploit faith for radical or destabilizing agendas.
While some political commentators, including Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, have tried to frame the controversy as a matter of expressing devotion, the truth is that the violence was orchestrated, deliberate, and intended to divide society.
Genuine faith is a personal matter; turning it into a tool for public disorder is both criminal and dangerous.
Even voices from within the Muslim community, such as Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, Chairman of the Islamic Centre of India and Shahi Imam of Lucknow, have condemned these acts.
He appealed to the community to maintain peace, uphold harmony, and respect the law, emphasizing that provocative public demonstrations with banners like “I Love Mohammad” are inappropriate and unacceptable.
This episode underscores a fundamental truth: faith is sacred, but radical elements cannot be allowed to weaponize it. Uttar Pradesh is watching, and those who attempt to spread violence will receive a response so decisive that it will serve as a lifetime warning.
