Rajasthan IAS officer Bharti Dixit has lodged a formal complaint with the state Director General of Police, alleging that her husband — fellow IAS officer Ashish Modi — subjected her to physical violence, unlawful confinement, and unauthorized access to her personal data.

Based on her complaint, an FIR has been filed at the SMS Hospital police station in Jaipur. Dixit, who currently serves as Joint Secretary in the state Finance Department, has accused Modi of deceiving her into marriage and then inflicting prolonged harassment, including emotional trauma and physical assault.

In her detailed complaint, Dixit narrated an incident she says occurred on October 15. According to her, Modi, along with a group of aides, forcibly placed her inside a car and held her captive for nearly 90 minutes.

She alleges that he threatened her with a firearm, pressuring her to consent to a divorce. She further claimed she was later taken to a residence where she was locked inside a room against her will.

Dixit also alleged that her husband secretly installed surveillance equipment — including a hidden camera in her room — and remotely accessed her devices by linking her phone to external systems, enabling him to monitor her activities.

Ashish Modi has reportedly said that he was in Bihar from November 4 to 7, 2025, when the FIR was filed. Citing ongoing proceedings, he declined further comment. However, he said he will cooperate with the inquiry.

Seeking protection for herself and her family, Dixit has requested security cover and urged authorities to prevent Modi from entering her official residence.

She has demanded strict legal action against him and those allegedly involved in the incident.

Following her complaint, police registered the case under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to cruelty, extortion, wrongful confinement, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy.

Relevant sections of the Information Technology Act concerning unauthorized data access were also invoked.

The investigation has been transferred to Additional DCP (Crime) Sriman Lal Meena of the Jaipur Commissionerate for further inquiry.
