RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Emphasizes Unity Among Hindus, Outlines Centenary Year Plans in Kashi Visit
On Friday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat reiterated the organisation’s core vision of uniting all sects, castes, and communities within the Hindu society. Addressing volunteers of the RSS Rajputana Shakha at IIT-BHU during his five-day visit to Kashi, Bhagwat said that shared spaces like temples and water sources should be accessible to all Hindus without discrimination.
“Temples and water should be common for everyone. All sects, castes, and communities of Hindu society must come together — this is the vision of the Sangh,” Bhagwat stated, underlining the RSS’s commitment to fostering social harmony within the broader Hindu community.
Responding to a research student’s query regarding plans for the RSS’s centenary year, Bhagwat affirmed that the organisation would continue its long-standing mission. “The work that the Sangh has been engaged in for the past 100 years will move forward with the same dedication,” he said.
According to an RSS volunteer, the chief highlighted the importance of preserving Indian culture, values, and traditions and engaged with students to understand their perspectives on these themes. He also held a brief interaction with several IIT-BHU professors.
Notable Sangh leaders, including Division Co-Sanghchalak Dr. Rameshwar Chaurasia, Area Pracharak Anil Kumar, and State Pracharak Ramesh Kumar, were present during the session.
Earlier in the day, Bhagwat participated in a strategic meeting with top RSS office bearers from the Kashi region to plan initiatives for the organisation’s centenary celebrations. Among the discussed programs were a door-to-door contact campaign, Hindu conferences, and special youth events.
A senior RSS official revealed that the goal is to enlist 1.25 lakh new volunteers in the Kashi region. The door-to-door outreach campaign, called “Griha Sampark Abhiyan,” will run from November 5 to 30, during which volunteers will distribute booklets detailing the Sangh’s history and mission.
Additionally, Hindu conferences are set to be held in every mandal (division) and basti (local area) through February next year. Special engagements at the block and city levels will aim to deepen community ties, while district-level dialogue sessions will bring together prominent citizens.
Youth-focused events will also be organised by the Sangh’s provincial units. Several other key issues were deliberated during the planning session.
As part of his visit, Bhagwat is scheduled to offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Saturday morning, followed by a meeting with prominent personalities of Kashi.
