Russia and India Forge Ahead in a Multipolar World: Moscow Rejects Western Dictation, Slams Trump’s Unipolar Illusions
BK Singh
Russia has once again made it abundantly clear that it will continue to consolidate its military and strategic cooperation with nations it considers true partners, rejecting outright any interference or lectures from external powers.
In the broader context of the emerging multipolar world order,
Moscow has emphasized that what sovereign states decide to do for the welfare of their people, the security of their nations, and the preservation of their independence is nobody else’s business.
Responding firmly to Europe’s objections over India’s participation in the “JAPAD-2025” military exercise, the Russian Foreign Ministry dismissed such concerns as irrelevant, baseless, and absurd.
Moscow underlined that India is a major power with its own sovereign foreign policy, and no nation—least of all the West—has the authority to dictate its choices.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova went further, questioning how long the West intends to persist in the laughable attempt to pressure powers like India.
This stance is a reflection of the shifting geopolitical currents. The era of unipolar dominance, where Washington—and particularly leaders like Donald Trump—tried to dictate global affairs, is rapidly fading.
Trump still clings to the illusion of a unipolar order, posturing like an emperor handing down decrees. From the White House, he sends one message to the world on Truth Social, only to enter another room and issue a completely contradictory proclamation.
These tariff-slashing policies, whimsical announcements, and high-handed dictates have not only been denounced but also ridiculed by the majority of nations that value sovereignty and self-respect.
Only a handful of states, perpetually holding the begging bowl before Washington, continue to follow blindly without dignity.
By contrast, leaders like President Vladimir Putin are regarded globally as symbols of resolve, stability, and firm commitment to national interest. Russia’s message is clear: partnerships with India and other friendly nations are not directed against third parties.
Rather, they are aimed at securing national security, strengthening global stability, and promoting peace. The JAPAD exercises, which saw participation from India’s Kumaon Regiment along with contingents from Iran, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Congo, and Mali, highlighted this new era of cooperation and trust among sovereign states.
The global order is moving decisively toward multipolarity, where respect, equality, and sovereignty form the foundation of international relations. Moscow’s rejection of Western interference is not just rhetoric—it is a declaration of a reality that fewer and fewer nations are willing to be treated as vassals.
