Three terrorists have been killed in a joint operation by security forces in Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the encounter site by the forces.
This includes US made M4 carbines.
Police got tipped off about the presence of terrorists after which operation was launched against them.
In the fierce battle that ensued left three terrorists dead.
During the past one week police and security forces had launched a massive search and flush out operation against terrorists in the area particularly in Doda, Poonch and Rajauri areas in Jammu and Kashmir.
On June 11 an army camp had been attacked by terrorists. Five soldiers and a police officer had been injured in this attack.
After this the home ministry further tightened security measures in the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir.
This led to massive deployment and security teams embarked upon search and flush out operations.
Sources said three locals who provided shelter and food to terrorists have been arrested.
A tight vigil is being maintained in the entire region, said Vijay Kumar Additional Director General of police Jammu and Kashmir while talking to media.
