Prayagraj: The horrific murder of Yash Singh, a 17-year-old Class 11 student at Bishop Johnson School, has shocked the city. Police investigations have revealed gruesome details:

Yash’s accused killer, Sharan Singh, not only murdered him but also dismembered his body into eight pieces, which he then packed into three separate bundles and disposed of in a drain.

The police have solved the case and have arrested Sharan Singh, who was previously a tenant in Yash’s home.

According to reports, Yash Singh was killed with chilling brutality. The accused, Sharan Singh, confessed during interrogation that he murdered to eliminate Yash.


Body Stored in Refrigerator, Packed in Polybags, and Dumped

During questioning, Sharan Singh revealed that after murdering Yash, he first stored the body in his refrigerator at home.

Later, he chopped the body into eight pieces, placed them in three polythene bags, and threw them into a drain near Hi-Tech City, Lavayan Kuriya village, on 26 August 2024.

Police later recovered these bundles.


Police Press Conference and Arrest Details

In a press conference, DCP City Prayagraj, Abhishek Bharti, and DCP Yamunanagar Vivek Chandra Yadav jointly shared detailed information on the case. According to the police, Sharan Singh worked as a property dealer and lived in Sadiyapur. Out of his six children, two daughters are married.

The unnatural deaths of his two children in quick succession had left him distraught and shattered.

As a result, they left the Sadiyapur house and started living with the rest of the family in a new house in Kalyani Devi. Here, he came into contact with a sorcerer who allegedly persuaded him to sacrifice a life to ward off evil days in his life.

After this, she purchased a saw matchet and some other things along with big polythene bags from Khoya Mandi in Chowk. Since he knew Yash so well, it was easy to lure him and commit the gruesome murder.

After chopping Yash’s body into eight pieces, he kept it in several bags and disposed of them.

The torso was recovered from near the Saraswati High Tech city, and the head was recovered by the police from the kachar of Rasoolaba.d

The DCP City said Sharan Singh was under immense financial stress and had moved into a new house.

He planned the murder meticulously. Saurabh admitted that he became close to Yash through social media and used this connection to lure him.


Plan to Secure Bail with ₹1 Lakh.

According to police, after the murder, Saurabh devised a plan to bribe and manipulate his way out of jail. He arranged ₹1 lakh to secure bail and went to court on Wednesday. However, police, who were tracking him, arrested him there before he could execute his plan.

During interrogation, Sharan Singh disclosed how he had befriended Yash, later killed him, cut his body into pieces, packed them in polythene bags, and dumped them in the drain.


Woman’s Presence Led to Breakthrough in Case

Police stated that the breakthrough came after a woman witnessed suspicious movements in the area.

After dumping Yash’s body, Sharan tried to erase evidence carefully. However, locals reported seeing a woman in the vicinity where the body parts were found. This clue helped police trace Sharan Singh.

The police eventually arrested him and recovered evidence, including bloodstains, CCTV footage, and items linked to the murder.
