Three Lashkar Terrorists Eliminated in Fierce Encounter Near Srinagar, Mastermind of Pahalgam Massacre Among Slain

In a blistering counter-terror operation, Indian security forces delivered a powerful blow to Pakistan-backed terrorism on Monday by eliminating three heavily armed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in the dense Harwan forests near Dachigam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Among the neutralised was Suleman, the notorious mastermind behind the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 innocent civilians dead. Suleman, along with two other high-value foreign terrorists – Abu Hamza and Yasir – was gunned down in a precise, high-risk assault launched by a joint team of the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The daring mission, codenamed Operation Mahadev, was based on solid intelligence inputs and commenced at 11 a.m. when security personnel closed in on the Mulnar area of Harwan.

The terrorists opened fire, triggering an intense gun battle deep within the rugged terrain of Dachigam’s forests – located just 20 km from Srinagar’s heart.

“Three terrorists have been neutralised in an intense firefight. Operation continues,” posted the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army on X, confirming the success.

According to top defence sources, the slain terrorists were all foreign operatives and ranked as high-value targets, believed to be part of the network responsible for spreading death and fear in the Kashmir Valley.

The Pahalgam massacre, which had shocked the entire nation, prompted a relentless hunt for the culprits. Weeks of tracking, surveillance, and coordination finally led forces to the Harwan region, where the terrorists were believed to have taken shelter.

Although officials have yet to formally link all three dead terrorists to the April 22 massacre, the killing of Suleman marks a critical victory against the perpetrators of one of the most brutal terror strikes in recent memory.

Monday’s success came after security forces launched a massive cordon-and-search operation in the Mulnar forest zone following specific intelligence alerts.

Gunshots echoed through the valley as elite troops engaged the terrorists in close-quarter combat. Reinforcements were swiftly deployed, and after a methodical combing operation, all three militants were eliminated with precision.

This operation sends a clear and unforgiving message to terror outfits and their handlers across the border: India will not forget, will not forgive, and will decisively crush every threat to its sovereignty and its people.
