Three UPSC Aspirants Drowned In The Basement Of Rau’s Civil Services Coaching Centre In Delhi.

Three UPSC aspirants drowned in the basement of Rau’s Coaching Centre in old Rajinder Nagar in New Delhi. The basement was being used as Library. The owner and Centre coordinator have been arrested following protest by students. They have been sent into fourteen days Judicial custody.

Heavy downpour water is reported to have gushed into the basement with such a speed and volume that many students found it difficult to escape.

Sources said, there were thirty students at the time  of the incident.

Many of them managed to escape but three students got trapped and were drowned to death.

The deceased were identified as Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar, Tanya Soni from Telengana and Nivin Dalwin from Ernakulam.

Sources said, the owner of the building had allegedly forged the documents showing the basement as the parking lot. But in reality the basement was being used as a study place.

The Delhi Municipal Authority officials sealed three such places that were misusing the parking basement.

Shreya’s  uncle was reportedly furious as nobody from the coaching institute informed him about the incident. He reportedly came to know about the tragedy after seeing the news late saturday evening.

The Delhi government has ordered an inquiry into the incident that brought students on the streets protesting against what had happened to young lives.

We have come to Delhi not to die like this but to make our future for tomorrow said a protesting student.

The police had to intervene to remove protesting students as the roads in the area were getting blocked and the traffic was getting disrupted.

Delhi Minister and Aam Admi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has alleged “a big conspiracy” against the people of the National Capital, claiming that despite giving evidence and complaining of corruption in desilting, no action was taken against the officers involved by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

However, the Lt Governor has expressed deep anguish and pain over the death of the three students.

In a statement the Rau’s Coaching has said they they were fully committed to the welfare of students and would cooperate with the police in the ongoing investigations. We are dedicated to uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability.
