Twelve foot ladder on bike, sets world record at Republic Day parade

A team of daring soldiers captivated the audience with breathtaking motorcycle stunts during the 76th Republic Day celebrations held at Kartavya Path on Sunday. Known as “The Dare Devils,” the Motorcycle Rider Display Team from the Army’s Corps of Signals showcased their extraordinary skills, fearless spirit, and impeccable teamwork, aiming to set two world records during their performance.

Leading the charge was Captain Dimple Singh Bhati, who achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first woman officer of the Indian Army to present a salute to President Droupadi Murmu from a 12-foot ladder mounted on a moving motorcycle. With exceptional balance and composure, Bhati’s salute was a symbol of the courage, precision, and excellence that defines the Corps of Signals.

The team began their performance with a bold “Opening Salute” featuring a thrilling “Bullet Wheelie.” Among the record-breaking feats was the “Three Peak Devil Formation,” where Naik Jayakumar, Naik SP Mangu, and Signalman Sanket performed the longest assisted handstand on Kartavya Path, earning them a world record.

Under the leadership of Captain Ashish Rana, who delivered a crisp salute to the President, the riders executed various stunning formations. The “Shatrujeet Formation,” led by Naik Sumit Kumar Yadav and seven other daredevils, showcased the bravery and skill of the soldiers. Another remarkable display, the “Mercury’s Peak Formation,” involved Havildar Pramod Patil, Havildar Sangram Keshari Jena, and 12 other daredevils, embodying the Corps’ speed, communication, and efficiency.

The “Info Warriors Formation,” performed by Havildar Gamit Paresh, Naik Sunil Kumar, and 14 other daredevils, highlighted the Army’s mastery of cutting-edge technology and its crucial role in ensuring secure communication both on and off the battlefield. This act symbolized the Corps’ role as technological warriors in the modern era.

One of the most visually striking moments came with the “Lotus Formation,” led by Company Havildar Major Durgesh Kumar, Company Quartermaster Havildar Sujit Mondal, and 20 other daredevils. Their flawless recreation of the lotus, India’s national flower, symbolized purity, resilience, and enlightenment, leaving the audience in awe.

The grand finale featured a team of 33 personnel forming a human pyramid atop nine moving motorcycles. Led by Naib Subedar Anil Kumar and eight other daredevils, this display of strength, skill, and coordination pushed the boundaries of endurance and precision, earning thunderous applause from the crowd. The Dare Devils’ performance stood as a true testament to the Army’s spirit, dedication, and excellence.
