At a time when monsoons are usually on the wane and return after one year, heavy down pour in several parts of Uttar Pradesh have taken away twenty five lives.
Fifteen persons died in Braj Mandal and five in Mainpuri.
The remaing five died in different districts.
According to weatherman the alert was still there. The situation in several areas could worsen.
This situation got triggered by building up of pressure in central parts of the country.
Similar situation might build up in south eastern areas of Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
The situation in twelve states of the country might become serious during the next twenty four hours says the weather department.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath has expressed anguish over the deaths caused due to collapse of houses in some districts including Lucknow.
The families of all such persons who died in house collapse will be given ex gratia payments of Rs 4 lakh each.
