A tragic road accident in Soraon on the outskirts of Prayagraj, Thursday morning, claimed the lives of two people and left two others critically injured, triggering grief and shock among the families involved.

The fatal collision occurred near Tilli Ka Pura, Abdalpur Khas village, when two motorcycles coming from opposite directions crashed violently.

According to police, 36-year-old Ram Milan Patel, a resident of Pipri Shekhpura Sarai Bharat, was returning home on his motorcycle with his relative Ramkhelawan after visiting his sister in Achakwapur.

At the same time, another motorcycle carrying 17-year-old Shivanshu Shukla, a native of Purauli, Pratapgarh, and his friend Tasleem from Ismailpur, was approaching from the opposite direction.

Both bikes collided head-on, leading to severe injuries to all four riders.

Shivanshu Shukla, who was seated on one of the motorcycles, died on the spot due to the force of the impact. Tasleem sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

In the other vehicle, both Ram Milan and Ramkhelawan were gravely injured. Ram Milan, who worked as a shuttering labourer and was the father of two sons, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital.

Ramkhelawan has been admitted to Swaroop Rani Hospital, where his condition remains critical.

The accident has devastated the families. In Pratapgarh, grief has engulfed the home of Sheshmani Shukla, whose only son Shivanshu has lost his life.

Shivanshu was living with his maternal grandfather in Abdalpur for his studies and was a Class-6 student at a nearby school.

The young boy’s death has left his parents, grandparents, and sister shattered.

Similarly, Ram Milan’s family in Soraon is in deep mourning, with his sons Shubham Patel and Arun Patel inconsolable after losing their father.

Relatives and neighbours gathered at the residence to console the grieving family.

Police Action & Road Safety Concerns

In a separate but related road safety crackdown, Mejaroad police officials rushed to the site of another motorcycle accident at Patel Chauraha and shifted the injured to the hospital.

Police have again stressed the dangers posed by reckless youth speeding, especially those riding without helmets or licenses.

Officers stated that strict checking drives are underway and that challans are being issued to violators.

The growing number of such accidents highlights the urgent need for responsible driving and strict enforcement of road safety rules.

Authorities emphasized that speeding motorcycles continue to pose serious risks to public safety, despite ongoing police efforts.
