Two Student Deaths Shock Prayagraj: Inter Girl Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances, BSc Student Dies by Suicide After Exam Result Stress
Two separate incidents involving young students have sent shockwaves across Prayagraj, highlighting concerns related to personal safety and academic stress.
Inter Student Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Kaundhiyara
Sensation prevailed in the Kaundhiyara–Karchhana area after an intermediate student was found dead under suspicious circumstances near a toilet constructed behind her house late Monday night.
The deceased, identified as Sakshi Tiwari, was a resident of Nachna village in the Kaundhiyara police station area. Her father, Avneesh Tiwar, and her brother work in Mumbai, while Sakshi lives at home with her mother, Sangeeta.
According to family members, Sakshi had gone to use the toilet around 11 pm on Monday but did not return for a long time.
When her mother went to check on her, she found Sakshi lying motionless near the toilet. Injury marks on her neck have raised suspicion of strangulation.
The victim’s mother has alleged that her daughter may have been murdered by being strangled with a wire.
She also claimed that a few years ago, her son had survived a life-threatening attack, further intensifying the family’s suspicion.
ACP Kaundhiyara Abdus Salam Khan, along with the forensic team and dog squad, inspected the crime scene and began an investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem examination.
Relatives from the victim’s maternal side, who arrived from Bhita village, have demanded a swift and thorough probe.
The deceased’s father and brother have left Mumbai for Prayagraj. Police officials stated that no formal complaint has yet been submitted by the family, and further action will depend on the postmortem report and written complaint.
BSc Final Year Student Dies by Suicide in Daryabad
In another tragic incident, a 22-year-old BSc final year student allegedly died by suicide in the Daryabad locality of Prayagraj.
The deceased, identified as Ashutosh Soni alias Bhola, was a resident of Daryabad and studied in a college located in Karela Bagh.
His mother had passed away several years ago, while his father, Rajkumar Soni, is reportedly mentally unwell. He is survived by his sister Neelam Soni.
According to family members, Ashutosh had been under stress after failing in his fifth-semester examination, the results of which were declared a few days earlier.

Alongside his studies, he also worked at a hotel to support the family.
On Monday night, around 9 pm, some relatives had come to visit the family. Ashutosh was in his room using his mobile phone.
When family members went to call him for dinner, they found him hanging from the ceiling.
No suicide note was recovered from the room. Police officials from Atarsuiya police station stated that preliminary investigation suggests academic stress as the likely reason behind the suicide.
After the postmortem examination on Tuesday, the body was handed over to the family.
Both incidents have sparked concern in the city, drawing attention to issues of personal security and the growing mental pressure faced by students. Authorities have initiated investigations in both cases.
