In a major relief for unemployed youth in Uttar Pradesh, the long-awaited Home Guard recruitment process has finally been cleared.
The state government has approved over 45,000 vacancies for Home Guards — opening the door to secure employment for thousands of young men and women, especially those with limited educational qualifications seeking government service.
This recruitment drive is being seen as a major opportunity for 10th-pass youth across the state, as the minimum educational qualification has officially been set as High School (Class 10).
While earlier speculation suggested the requirement might be raised to Class 12, the government has confirmed that Class 10 pass candidates are eligible, creating a strong avenue for lesser-qualified candidates to secure a uniformed service role.
Recruitment guidelines have been finalized, and the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has been entrusted with carrying out the entire process.
Eligibility & Age Limit
- Age Requirement: 18 to 30 years
- Education: Minimum Class 10 pass
Selection Process
Candidates will undergo multiple stages to secure selection:
- Written Examination
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Document Verification
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
A final merit list will be prepared after completion of all stages.

- Mode: Online application
- Start Date: 1 July 2026
- Apply For: Only candidates’ home district
- Uploading educational certificates and mark sheets will be mandatory.
- District-wise vacancies will be announced by UPPRPB.
- Separate seats will be reserved for male and female candidates, with full compliance with reservation norms.
