UP Govt to E-Auction 144 Industrial Plots Across 16 Districts, Boosting Opportunities for Entrepreneurs

In a major push to promote entrepreneurship and industrial growth, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a mega e-auction for the allotment of 144 industrial plots spread across 16 districts.

This initiative, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is aimed at creating a transparent, fair, and time-bound system to provide land to entrepreneurs looking to establish or expand their ventures within the state.

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will oversee the e-auction, which is expected to open new doors for industrialists, MSMEs, and start-ups by giving them access to ready-to-develop industrial land in strategically located districts.

Plot sizes range from 300 square metres to over 13,000 square metres, catering to a wide spectrum of industrial needs—from small-scale manufacturing units to large-scale industrial parks.

Opportunity Across Regions and Sectors

The plots will be auctioned in districts including Mathura, Mainpuri, Shahjahanpur, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Banda, Baghpat, Unnao, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Varanasi, and Amethi. This geographical spread ensures balanced regional development and encourages investment in lesser-explored districts with high potential.

Amethi, for example, offers the highest number of plots (33), creating significant local opportunity. A 5,097.10 sq. m plot in Baghpat has already been reserved for a mega project under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy (UPIIEPP-2022), demonstrating how this initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision of attracting high-value industries.

Entrepreneurs will benefit from clearly defined reserve prices, online application procedures, and easy-to-access digital platforms. The entire process—from registration and fee submission to bidding—will be conducted online, minimising bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing transparency.

Tailored to Diverse Business Needs

Whether it’s a small leather goods unit or a general-purpose manufacturing plant, the auction includes plots suitable for varied industrial purposes. For instance:

  • The smallest plot (300 sq. m) in IIDC Banthra, priced at ₹16.47 lakh, is ideal for small enterprises.
  • The largest plot (13,197 sq. m) in Malwan, Kanpur, priced at ₹3.74 crore, is suited for large-scale industries.

This ensures that entrepreneurs of all scales—from start-ups to established businesses—can find land that matches their investment capacity and expansion needs.

Key Dates and Process

  • Application Deadline: July 5
  • Fee Submission (Catalogue, Processing, EMD): By July 4
  • E-Auction Date: July 11

Shortlisted applicants will be notified after verification, and bidding will take place via UPSIDA’s digital auction platform.

Economic and Entrepreneurial Impact

This initiative is not just about land allocation—it is a strategic move to empower entrepreneurs, drive job creation, and accelerate industrialisation across Uttar Pradesh. By simplifying access to industrial plots and eliminating delays, the state government is actively supporting the ‘Ease of Doing Business’.

Moreover, the move aligns with UPSIDA’s long-term vision of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a manufacturing and investment hub, promoting self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta), and encouraging local enterprise development.

With its investor-friendly policies, digital governance, and region-specific development, this e-auction stands as a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs ready to scale up their ventures in one of India’s fastest-growing industrial corridors.
