Yogi Adityanath Slams Rumour-Mongering Amid Middle East Tensions, Rejects ‘Noida Superstition’ While Distributing 665 Nursing Appointments

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has strongly condemned the spread of misinformation and rumours circulating through various platforms at a time when global tensions remain high due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

He cautioned that such baseless claims can disturb public order, create panic among citizens and adversely affect social harmony.

Addressing a gathering in Lucknow, the Chief Minister said certain elements were attempting to create confusion by spreading false information regarding essential supplies and possible administrative decisions.

He cited examples of rumours claiming that only four kilograms of LPG were being filled in a 14-kg domestic gas cylinder, as well as speculation suggesting that a nationwide lockdown could soon be imposed.

Yogi Adityanath described these claims as completely unfounded and irresponsible, stating that the circulation of unverified information during sensitive times can lead to fear, panic buying and unnecessary unrest in society.

He urged citizens not to believe or forward misleading messages on social media and to rely only on authentic information issued by government authorities and credible sources.

The Chief Minister emphasised that maintaining social stability and public confidence is essential, particularly when international developments can trigger anxiety among people.

He warned that strict action could be taken against individuals found deliberately spreading misinformation with the intention of disturbing peace.

Without naming Samajwadi Party leader and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Yogi Adityanath also took a political swipe, alleging that the previous leadership had avoided visiting Noida and Greater Noida due to superstition, which he said hindered development in the region.

He asserted that his government had rejected such beliefs and prioritised development projects in the area.

Yogi Adityanath made these remarks while attending a programme at the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, where he distributed 665 appointment letters to newly recruited nursing personnel.

Highlighting the importance of healthcare infrastructure and employment generation, he said the state government is continuously working to strengthen public services.

Referring to the perception surrounding his saffron attire, the Chief Minister remarked that some people might assume he believes in superstition, but he clarified that he respects faith while rejecting superstitious beliefs.

He recalled that he had received suggestions advising him not to visit Noida due to a long-standing political myth that chief ministers who visited the city lost power.

However, he said he dismissed such notions and instead focused on accelerating development in the region.

He pointed out that major infrastructure projects, including the recently developed international airport in the Noida region, demonstrate the government’s commitment to progress and investment.

According to the Chief Minister, development should not be hindered by superstition or political hesitation, and governance must be guided by rational decision-making and public welfare.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government remains committed to maintaining transparency, ensuring public confidence and promoting development across Uttar Pradesh while cautioning citizens to remain vigilant against misinformation.
