Yogi Adityanath Unveils ₹1,052 Crore Development Projects in Siddharthnagar, Says Uttar Pradesh Has Transformed from Uproar to Celebration

Siddharthnagar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday asserted that his government is committed to inclusive development without any discrimination, stating that the state has moved away from an era of unrest and is steadily emerging as a land of festivals, progress, and positive transformation.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Siddharthnagar Mahotsav at the district headquarters, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 229 development projects worth ₹1,052 crore.

CM Yogi said that power in the wrong hands leads to destruction, but when entrusted to righteous forces, it generates positive energy that brings meaningful change in people’s lives.

He emphasized that the work carried out by a government is not an act of charity but a responsibility and moral duty.

“The strength given by the people must be used selflessly and without discrimination for the welfare of the masses,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s governance philosophy, he noted that when intentions are pure, even destiny supports the mission.

“Our government is working with fairness and equality. We have considered the state’s 25 crore population as one family and have accelerated the development drive accordingly.

When the double-engine government worked with full dedication, decades-old problems were resolved within just a few years,” he added.

Gorakhpur–Shamli Economic Corridor to Boost Regional Growth

The Chief Minister announced that the upcoming Gorakhpur–Shamli Economic Corridor will pass through three assembly constituencies of Siddharthnagar district — Itwa, Dumariyaganj, and Bansi — transforming the region into a new growth corridor.

He also spoke about Piprahwa, from where relics of Lord Buddha were taken to England around 125 years ago, and recently put up for auction abroad.

“Our Member of Parliament made efforts,s and I personally wrote letters to ensure their return. Now the government is developing a Vipassana meditation center in Kapilvastu, along with dormitories and other infrastructure facilities,” he said.

Referring to India’s friendly ties with Nepal, CM Yogi said that earlier, er the connectivity between states and across borders was in poor condition.

However, the double-engine government has significantly improved interstate and international connectivity by developing four-lane highways. Siddharthnagar’s connectivity is also being upgraded with four-lane roads.

He further mentioned that the railway line passing from Khalilabad to Bahraich runs nearly 80 kilometers through Siddharthnagar district, which will attract investments and boost economic activity.

Medical Education and Infrastructure: Transforming the District

CM Yogi noted that just eight years ago, no one could have imagined Siddharthnagar having a medical college.

“Today, Madhav Prasad Tripathi Medical College has started functioning. A nursing college has also begun operations, and the foundation stone for a women’s hostel has been laid.

Through CSR funds, the construction of a 1,000-seat auditorium is also being taken forward,” he said.

He recalled that Siddharthnagar was once classified as an aspirational district not because of development, but due toa lack of infrastructure, disease, and migration. “A sick mindset had made eastern Uttar Pradesh sick.

The region was trapped in the grip of mosquito mafias. Poor families, Dalits, minorities, and extremely backward communities lost their children to encephalitis.

Today, that dark chapter has been turned around,” he added.

The Chief Minister reiterated that Uttar Pradesh has now entered a new era of peace, prosperity, and celebration, driven by infrastructure development, healthcare expansion, connectivity, and inclusive governance.
