Revival of Nalanda is going to start a golden age for India said,PM Narendra Modi while inaugurating its new campus in Bihar. Nalanda is an identity, a regard. Nalanda is the root, it is the mantra.

“My mission is that India becomes the centre of education and knowledge for the world.”

Nalanda is proclamation of truth that knowledge cannot be destroyed through burning of books and libraries.

Establishment of new Nalanda University which was once destroyed would initiate the golden age of India.

Revival of this university near it’s ancient ruins will tell the world that nations with strong human values are capable of creating a better world by rejuvenating history.

Nalanda carries heritage of the world, Asia and many other countries and its revival is not restricted to revival of Indian aspects.

This is evident from the presence of so many countries in the inauguration, said the PM.

Education is beyond boundaries. Students were admitted in this university irrespective of their identities and nationalities.

The PM was delighted to know that students from 20 countries are already studying in this university.

Calling Nalanda students and scholars the future of India the PM underlined the importance of the next 25 years of “Amrit Kal” and called upon them to carry the ‘Nalanda Way’ and values with them.

He asked them to be curious, courageous and above all be kind in line with their logo and urged them for positive in the society.

He said, he had faith that Nalanda’s knowledge would give direction to humanity and that the youth would lead the whole world in the coming times.

I believe that Nalanda would become an important centre for global cause, added the PM.

Founded in 5th century, Nalanda University was renowned as a centre of learning that attracted scholars from around the world. It flourished for eight centuries until it was destroyed by invaders in the 12th century and was designated a UN heritage site in 2016.

At the end of the 12th century Bakhitiyar Khilji an illiterate war lord from Afghanistan had demolished the Monastery, killed the monks and burned the valuable books.

 Now this university is being reopened due to efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
