Health services still paralysed in the country even when supreme court issues directions for their safety
The Calcutta police has suspended three officers following the mob violence at RG kar hospital.
A strong mob had attacked the hospital where the doctors were protesting against the rape and brutal murder of a colleague inside the campus. The suspended officials include two ACPs.
On the other hand there was no let up in the strike resorted to by doctors in Uttar Pradesh, Calcutta, Delhi and other states in the country.
Health facilities remained suspended everywhere on the 13th day of the ongoing strike by doctors.
What added fuel to the fire was the forced entry of a strong mob on the RG Kar hospital campus on August 15 where junior doctors were peacefully protesting against the brutal rape and horrific killing of one of their colleagues. This horrifying incident took place inside the hospital in the seminar room.
On the other hand 150 CISF personnel are on the brink of being stationed on the campus of this hospital.
A CISF team led by a DIG has already visited the hospital and carried out inspection. The team talked to the doctors and took stock of the situation.
The supreme court, it may be mentioned, has irdered the deployment of CISF on the RG Kar hospital so that doctors return on duty and their confidence gets restored.
The union health ministry has already constituted a national task force to look into the security aspect of hospitals and take suitable measures for deployment of security personnel in hospitals.
