Dr. Shaheen Saeed’s Arrest Raises Alarm: Allegedly Tasked With Creating Women’s Wing for Jaish-e-Mohammed

Dr. Parvez, Quit University Abruptly Before Raids; ATS Questions Him for Hours

Dr. Parvez Ansari, 50, was working as a Senior Resident at Integral University in Lucknow’s Gudamba area in 2021.

However, on November 6, he abruptly resigned from the university — a move that puzzled colleagues at the time. His sudden departure drew attention only after the Delhi blast case took a dramatic turn.

On Tuesday morning, after the arrest of Dr. Shaheen Ansari — suspected of involvement in terrorist activities in Faridabad — teams of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Jammu & Kashmir Police raided Parvez’s residence in Mutakkipur, Madiyanv.

This triggered intense speculation regarding possible links.

During the raid, officials discovered that Parvez is the younger brother of Dr. Shaheen Ansari.

Sources claim that ATS and Delhi intelligence agencies had begun tracking individuals related to the alleged terror module from November 4.

It is believed that this pressure prompted Parvez to resign from his job on November 6. He reportedly appeared once after that but has been missing since.

Phone Switched Off, House Locked

According to ATS sources, Parvez’s mobile phone had been switched off for 48 hours before the raid.

Officials suspect he fled after learning that an AK-47 rifle was recovered from his sister Shaheen’s car.

When the police team arrived at his residence, they found the house locked from the outside.

A white Alto car (UP-11 BD 3563) was parked near the house with an Integral University gate pass displayed on the windshield, while a Splendor motorcycle (UP 32 CA 8537) with a doctor’s insignia was found inside.

Neighbours described Parvez as a reserved person who rarely interacted with anyone in the locality.

Family Claims Innocence; ATS Seizes Phones, Documents

Further investigation at Parvez’s home led to the recovery of documents and a diary containing phone numbers.

These verified his relationship with Dr. Shaheen Ansari, who is accused of supplying weapons.

It also emerged that their father, Dr. Shahid Ansari, resides in Khandhari Bazaar, Kaisarbagh.

ATS and J&K Police soon reached Shahid’s house. The family did not resist the search. Shahid stated he has two sons — Shoaib and Parvez — and a daughter, Shaheen.

He explained that Shaheen had been living in Faridabad for a long time, Shoaib lives with him, and Parvez stays separately in Madiyanv.

He firmly denied any extremist links in the family, insisting, Shaheen has no connection with terrorist activities. She is being framed.”

ATS seized mobile phones belonging to Shahid and other family members, along with additional documents.

Prolonged Questioning at ATS Headquarters

By late evening, ATS detained Dr. Parvez for interrogation. Investigators reportedly traced him by questioning his close contacts.

He was taken to the ATS headquarters, where officials questioned him for several hours regarding his sister’s alleged involvement, his sudden resignation, and his activities in recent days.

The arrest of Dr. Shaheen Saeed, following the recent bust of a suspected terror module, has sent shockwaves through intelligence and security circles.

Investigators claim that Dr. Shaheen was not just a sympathizer but allegedly an active operative of the banned terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

According to agencies, she was working for Jamaat-ul-Mominaat, the organisation’s newly-created women’s wing, and was reportedly tasked with establishing a female recruitment and support network in India.

Authorities say Dr. Shaheen was in contact with handlers based in Pakistan and had been receiving instructions from across the border.

These revelations mark a worrying shift in terror strategy, where extremist organisations are increasingly attempting to use women to further their networks and operations — a trend that aligns with Pakistan-based ISI’s reported plans to expand female radicalisation channels.

Family in Shock

Dr. Shaheen, who once worked at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was previously married to Zafar Hayat in Maharashtra before their divorce in 2015.

Her family expressed deep shock after the allegations surfaced.

Her father, Shahid Saeed Ansari, said he felt “the ground slip beneath his feet” when he learned about the claims.

He mentioned that he last spoke to Shaheen about a month ago and had no idea she was allegedly involved in extremist activities.

“We never even heard the name of Dr. Muzammil before,” he said, referring to another suspect recently arrested.

Broader Security Concerns

Intelligence sources note that Jaish-e-Mohammed appears to be evolving its tactics, increasingly drawing women into operations — a method seen previously in global jihadist organisations.

The announcement of Jamaat-ul-Mominaat was reportedly made through a communication attributed to Masood Azhar, JeM’s founder and one of India’s most-wanted terrorists.

Security agencies now fear that this development could indicate a broader movement toward structured female participation in extremist networks — including recruitment, indoctrination, logistics support, and cyber communication.

With investigations still underway, agencies are examining Shaheen’s digital trail, financial records, and communications to determine the full extent of her alleged role and the network she may have been building.

Lucknow: Shaheen’s Brother Detained; ATS, J&K Police Search Houses for Nearly Five Hours

Following the arrest of Shaheen, teams of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Jammu & Kashmir Police on Tuesday carried out extensive searches at two locations linked to him — his residence in Kaisarbagh’s Khandhari Bazaar and the home of his brother, Dr. Parvez Ansari, in Madiyanv’s Mutakkipur area.

A day earlier, Lucknow Police had reportedly failed to trace Shaheen’s residence, but the ATS successfully reached both locations on Tuesday morning.

The search operation lasted nearly five hours, during which officials seized several electronic devices, including the mobile phone belonging to Shaheen’s father, Shahid.

After questioning him, authorities also took Dr. Parvez into custody for further interrogation.

The operation began around 7 a.m., when ATS and J&K Police raided Dr. Parvez’s Mutakkipur residence.

During the search, they recovered three gadgets believed to be of investigative interest. Parvez was subsequently detained for questioning as part of the ongoing probe.

Link to Masood Azhar’s Network

Sources indicated that Saadia — who has also come under the scanner — is married to Yusuf Azhar, a relative of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar. Yusuf was reportedly killed in May in Bahawalpur during Operation Sindoor.

The involvement of women in the outfit’s network has raised serious concerns among police, central agencies, and the military. In response, Jammu & Kashmir

Police have intensified surveillance around schools and colleges, especially private institutions, amid reports suggesting a growing radical influence on young girls.
