The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 turned into a truly heartwarming and emotional moment for viewers across the country.
It featured Ayushi, a visually impaired contestant, who secured her place on the hot seat after winning the fastest finger first round.
As Ayushi made her way to the iconic chair, host Amitabh Bachchan—revered as “Big B” by millions—personally escorted her, ensuring she felt at ease. The legendary actor greeted her warmly, setting the tone for a touching and memorable interaction.
Ayushi’s journey and connection with KBC
During her conversation with Bachchan, Ayushi revealed her professional achievements that left the audience in awe—she is an IAS officer, currently serving as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). Her journey to this point is a testament to sheer resilience and determination.
She also shared her deep personal bond with Kaun Banega Crorepati. Growing up, even though she could not see the television screen, her family ensured she felt the essence of the show. They would describe every detail to her—the grandeur of the set, the lighting arrangements, and how Amitabh Bachchan interacts with each contestant with warmth and grace.
“Ever since this show began, my entire family has watched it,” Ayushi said with a smile. “They would narrate to me how the set looks, how the lights shine, and how you make every contestant feel comfortable. Sitting here today, I can say I feel the same comfort. This show is not just a program—it is a feeling for me.”
Words that moved Big B
Ayushi went on to express her admiration for Amitabh Bachchan, saying that even though she cannot see him herself, she has always been told of his towering height, striking features, and handsome personality.
Her heartfelt words visibly moved the 82-year-old host, who responded with equal emotion: “We are very fortunate that you are with us today.” His words reflected the respect and admiration he felt for her strength and spirit.
A mother’s pride and resilience
The emotional highlight of the episode deepened when Ayushi’s mother shared her daughter’s inspiring journey. Speaking with pride, she revealed how Ayushi has faced tremendous challenges since childhood.
“She is visually impaired and also suffers from an illness,” her mother explained. “As a child, she could only see faint, blurry light, and with time, even that faded completely. But despite these struggles, she has always been spirited, enthusiastic, and determined to achieve her goals.”
An achiever against all odds
Ayushi’s accomplishments are remarkable. She revealed that she secured an All-India Rank of 48 in the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination, one of the toughest competitive exams in the country. Before cracking UPSC, she had worked as a lecturer, demonstrating her commitment to education and public service even before joining the civil administration.
Her story on KBC became more than just a game-show moment—it was a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the unbreakable human spirit.
