Lucknow, March 4: In response to the Ansal Group case in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the immediate registration of an FIR against the company, assuring homebuyers that their interests will be safeguarded. This action follows the initiation of insolvency proceedings against the real estate giant by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).

During a review meeting of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, CM Adityanath expressed zero tolerance for fraudulent activities against homebuyers. He directed authorities to take strict legal action against all responsible officers of the company.

Legal Action Across Multiple Districts

To ensure justice for affected buyers, the chief minister mandated FIRs to be lodged in all districts where similar complaints against the Ansal Group have emerged, mirroring the legal action taken in Lucknow.

Additionally, he instructed officials to establish a committee consisting of representatives from the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and aggrieved homebuyers. This committee will gather and present strong evidence in court, enabling the legal system to hold the Ansal Group accountable for its alleged malpractice.

During the meeting, officials informed CM Adityanath that the NCLAT had passed an insolvency order without notifying key stakeholders, including the Lucknow Development Authority and the Housing Department.

Expressing strong dissatisfaction with this unilateral decision, the chief minister directed authorities to file an appeal against the NCLAT ruling in the interest of protecting homebuyers and ensuring fairness in the legal process.

In addition to addressing the Ansal Group issue, CM Adityanath reviewed the progress of the Housing and Urban Planning Department. He instructed officials to expedite all pending cases and accelerate resolution efforts.

During the session, he also assessed the status of key metro projects in Kanpur, Lucknow, and Agra, urging authorities to speed up construction to ensure timely completion.

The chief minister also reviewed progress on Uttar Pradesh’s roadmap to a $1 trillion economy, outlining key initiatives such as:

  • Development of 100 new townships to enhance urban infrastructure.
  • Digitization of administrative processes to streamline governance.
  • Accelerated disposal of pending property cases for efficient land use.
  • Facilitation of land acquisition for the construction of 100 hotels and 100 hospitals.

Emphasizing the importance of construction quality, CM Adityanath warned against unplanned urbanization and directed authorities to develop well-structured townships.

To tackle the challenges posed by urban slums, he urged the Development Authority and Housing Development Board to build high-quality residential facilities, parks, and gyms in these areas.

He also encouraged the construction of high-rise buildings to optimize space and enhance living conditions in overcrowded regions.

While reviewing the GIS-based master plan, CM Adityanath set a March deadline for identification and implementation of these plans across various districts.

Additionally, he directed officials to accelerate land acquisition for the Agra Inner Ring Road, Rahnkala, and Raipur projects, ensuring smooth coordination with local farmers for seamless execution.

Other priority projects include:

  • Fast-tracking urban expansion initiatives in Jhansi, Bareilly, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Bulandshahr, Chitrakoot, and Agra under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme.
  • Enhancing planning efforts to curb unregulated urban growth and ensure sustainable development.
  • Speeding up the construction of the International Exhibition and Convention Center in Lucknow to establish it as a premier venue for global events.

CM Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his commitment to protecting homebuyers, strengthening urban infrastructure, and ensuring planned development across Uttar Pradesh. By taking decisive legal action against the Ansal Group, expediting metro and township projects, and prioritizing economic growth, the government aims to transform the state into a model of planned urbanization and sustainable progress.
