Counterfeit currency printing racket busted in Allahabad. Room in a Madarsa was being used for this anti national activity: Four persons including the Madarsa principal arrested:

In a major breakthrough, the Allahabad police have busted a gang of four persons printing counterfeit currency notes.
Police also seized a printing machine and recovered bundles of currency notes of Rs 100 denomination worth 1.5 lakh from the spot.
This anti national activity was going on inside one of the rooms of Habibia Madarsa. The Madarsa is located next to Habibia Masjid in Atarsuiya locality.
The acting principal of this madarsa Tafsirul Arifeen and another person named Zahir Khan, the two main accused were arrested by the police along with two others, Afzal and Shaheen.
Afzal and Shaheen were involved in exchanging Rs 45,000 counterfeit notes in return for Rs 15000 real currency notes.
Both the main accused, Tafsirul, the principal and Zahir Khan hail from Orissa.
They had started the illegal printing activity around three months ago.
The Civil Lines police, swung into action after being tipped off about this anti national activity.
Police needs to dig into this case deeper because there are chances that the gang was using the money to fund terror activities against the country.
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had banned the use of Rs 2000 currency notes, a move that had drawn much criticism.
Besides blocking the blackmoney that had stock piled in so many hands, the government’s intention was to render fake currency notes of Rs 2000 denomination redundant.
This fake currency had been coming into India from across the border to weaken our economy.
However, the offenders this time refrained from printing Rs 500 denomination notes which are much in vogue as everybody has become cautious and chose to print the 100 rupee note, which is not valued much by many.
The interrogation of the four accused was going on till reports last came in.
