Imran Khan Held in Isolation as Family Accuses Pakistan Authorities of Hiding the Truth; Supreme Court Orders Ignored

Son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has raised a serious alarm about his well-being, saying the authorities are concealing crucial information about his physical and mental condition.

They say that for more than three weeks, the family has had no contact with him—no phone calls, no meetings, not even confirmation that he is alive.

Kasim Khan, speaking to Reuters, described the situation as “psychological torture,” noting that despite court orders allowing weekly visits, the family has been completely denied access.

Their requests for Khan’s personal doctor to examine him have also been rejected. Kasim fears that “something irreversible” has happened and is being hidden from them.

He called the situation a “human rights emergency,” accusing the authorities of deliberately isolating Khan because “they are scared of him” and are unable to defeat him through democratic means.

Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023, serving a 14-year sentence on corruption charges that many believe to be politically motivated.

In a post on X, Kasim urged the international community and global human rights groups to demand immediate proof of life, enforcement of court orders, and an end to the “inhumane isolation” imposed on Pakistan’s most popular political figure.

This crisis once again highlights the deep-rooted reality in Pakistan since its creation—the true rule of law has never existed.

Power has repeatedly been controlled by military chiefs, who have shaped the nation’s direction in line with their own interests.

Civilian governments have historically been weakened, dismissed, or controlled from behind the scenes, and today’s situation reflects the same pattern of military dominance.

The Supreme Court’s order permitting family visits is being ignored without consequence, revealing how judicial authority collapses when it conflicts with the establishment’s agenda.

Members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have announced a massive protest outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday, demanding Khan’s release.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that Khan has been in “complete isolation,”  calling the situation a blatant contempt of court.

Pakistan stands at a crossroads—between democracy and dictatorship, transparency and secrecy, civilian authority and military command.

For now, Imran Khan remains locked away in silence, with a country and world waiting to learn the truth.
