Local BJP leader Shyam Sundar Sharma shot fatally in Patna Monday morning, dies at hospital during treatment.

A BJP leader Shyam Sundar Sharma alias Munna Sharma was shot fatally near Ramdev community centre hall under Chowk police station area by unidentified assailants early Monday morning.

They fled from the crime scene after firing at the victim who fell in the ground. The incident was captured by a CCTV camera. Police were examining the footage to go deeper and identify the killers who rode away on a two wheeler.

The local media says, Sharma was on the road to see off his relatives who had gathered to attend his son’s engagement.

The Patna police received the infornation around 6.15 am Monday.

The victim was rushed to the hospital by his family members but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The cause behind the incident could not be ascertained as police investigations were still going on. The deceased was reportedly former mandal president of BJP.
