New Delhi: The NaMo 3.0 administration is said to have been in the process of effecting a secretary-level reshuffle soon. This may include a sizable bureaucratic shake-up with some of the Union secretaries getting shifted laterally.
It is learnt that over six Secretary-level posts and two Secretary-equivalent level posts may be filled afresh whereas a few lateral-shift will capture the imagination of the NaMo 3.0.
In the upcoming list of Secretaries, Uttar Pradesh is expected to get a fair share of the pie with Shashi Prakash Goyal (IAS: 1989: UP) and Devesh Chaturvedi (IAS: 1989: UP) on the list. Both UP Cadre batchmates have already secured NoC from the parent Cadre to proceed on Central Deputation. Currently, Chaturvedi is serving in the Cadre as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Appointments whereas Goyal holds the key position in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) as Additional CS.
Indications suggest that the New Delhi establishment may pick Chaturvedi as the next DoPT Secretary vice Radha S Chauhan (IAS: 1988: UP) retiring this month end whereas Goyal may be drafted in a key position at Raisina or may replace one of his seniors from parent Cadre.
