According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victim’s uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, the 25-year-old athlete was at home in the upscale Sushant Lok area of Gurugram when her father, Deepak Yadav, allegedly opened fire, killing her. The accused, aged 49, later confessed to the murder and was promptly arrested by the police.

The FIR, which forms the basis of the police inquiry, details that Deepak, his wife Manju, and Radhika were living on the first floor of their double-storey residence in Sector 57, while Kuldeep and his family lived on the ground floor. According to his statement, on Thursday around 10:30 AM, he heard what he described as a “loud explosion” from the first floor and rushed upstairs.
There, he discovered his niece lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen, having sustained multiple bullet wounds. A licensed .32 bore revolver, belonging to Deepak Yadav, was recovered from the drawing room. Kuldeep and his son Piyush Yadav carried the critically injured Radhika to Asia Maringo Hospital in Sector 56, where she was declared dead by the attending doctors.
