Passport issue of Samajwadi Party leader Abdullah Azam Khan to be heard on Dec 20: Allahabad High Cour
The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday adjourned till December 20, the hearing of a petition filed by Abdullah Azam Khan, son of veteran Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, challenging an order of CJM (MP/MLA), Rampur dated March 19, 2024, by which his prayer to produce some defense evidence in a criminal case questioning the genuineness of his passport was rejected by the CJM court.
Justice Samit Gopal passed this order after hearing counsel for Abdullah and state counsel.
Earlier on July 31, the court had issued notice to BJP MLA Rampur Akash Saxena, an informant in the case of an alleged fake passport of Abdullah Azam Khan, son of veteran Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan, after hearing parties concerned.
Subsequently, as per the direction of the court, Akash Saxena has filed his reply in this case.
Abdullah had challenged an order of CJM (MP/MLA), Rampur dated March 19, 2024, by which his prayer to produce some defense evidence in a criminal case questioning the genuineness of his passport was rejected by the CJM court.
