Salman Khan Smiles as RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Calls Him an Inspiration for College Youth

At a public event in Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan reacted with a warm smile after Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, cited him as a major influence on college students.

Salman, seated among the audience, was seen listening attentively as Bhagwat spoke—an unscripted moment that was soon caught on camera and widely shared online.

Videos and photographs from the two-day lecture series, 100 Years of Sangh Journey: New Horizons, quickly surfaced on social media.

In one widely circulated clip, Bhagwat spoke about how Salman Khan’s choices—particularly his clothing—often shape trends among young people.

“What Salman Khan wears, college students tend to wear the same. Why do they do it? Because he wears it.

Why does he wear it? I don’t know,” Bhagwat remarked, drawing laughter and attention.

He went on to underline how fashion-driven influence works across society, adding that those who set trends are often seen as credible, admirable, and accomplished individuals.

As the clip spread, social media users echoed Bhagwat’s observations, pointing to Salman Khan’s enduring impact on popular culture.

Many noted that since the 1990s, the actor has been a consistent trendsetter—whether through his fitness-first persona that inspired a wave of bodybuilding among youth, or through iconic style moments that became staples on college campuses.

Fans fondly recalled several of his signature looks over the years: the towel dance, ripped denim jeans, and the ever-popular style of tying a shirt around the waist.

His accessories, especially the distinctive firoza bracelet, were also widely emulated and became fashion statements in their own right.

The RSS marked its historic centenary with the lecture series held at the Nehru Centre Auditorium in Mumbai, which concluded on Sunday.

The celebrations saw the presence of several prominent personalities from the film industry, including Akshay Kumar, Pritam, Raveena Tandon, Ananya Panday, and Karan Johar.

Salman Khan attended the event on Saturday, while others such as Vicky Kaushal, Shilpa Shetty, singer Adnan Sami, and producer Ramesh Taurani were present on the second day.

On the professional front, Salman Khan is set to star next in Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China, in which 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives.

Actress Chitrangada Singh has been cast opposite Salman. Initially scheduled for release on April 17, 2026, the film has now been postponed and is slated to hit theatres on August 14, 2026.

Salman was last seen in Sikandar, an action drama written and directed by A R Murugadoss, which also featured Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj.
