“They Left Home Laughing, They Returned Silent”: Four Teenage Friends Killed in Greater Noida Crash

5

Greater Noida: What began as a carefree Monday afternoon for four close friends ended in unimaginable grief for their families, as a horrific road accident on Kulesara Pushta Road claimed all four of their young lives.

The bustling streets of Greater Noida fell eerily silent after the crash, as news of the tragedy spread through neighborhoods and schools, leaving entire communities shaken.

The Fatal Ride

Police said the four friends, two of them Class 8 schoolboys and the other two factory workers, had set out on their motorcycle shortly after lunch.

They often used Pushta Road, known for its open stretches, as a backdrop to film reels for their social media pages. On Monday, too, their laughter echoed down the lane as they zoomed away, unaware they would never return.

Just minutes later, tragedy struck. Eyewitnesses say the motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding car in the Ecotech-3 police station area. None of the four were wearing helmets.

The crash was so severe that bystanders rushed to the scene, desperately trying to help, but it was already too late.

Eyewitnesses Recall Horror

“I heard a deafening screech, then a crash. By the time we ran over, the boys were lying on the road motionless.

People were screaming,” said Ravi Kumar, a shopkeeper whose store faces the road. “They were so young… one of them still had a school bag strapped to his back.”

Another witness described how the car came to a halt several meters away, its front mangled. “The driver looked stunned. He just froze. Nobody could believe what had happened.”

Rushed, But Too Late

Locals quickly called for help, and within minutes, police and an ambulance arrived.

The four boys were rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared them dead on arrival. Their parents, who had been informed, were met with the devastating sight of their sons’ lifeless bodies.

In a statement, DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi confirmed that four friends have died in the crash.

The car driver has been taken into custody, and legal action is underway. The vehicle has been seized, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem.”

Families in Unbearable Grief

In their homes, silence hung heavy as relatives and neighbors gathered to console the families. One father, trembling as he clutched his son’s photograph, whispered, “He promised he’d be home in an hour. He never came back.”

The mothers sat stunned, some wailing, others in shock, unable to process how a casual ride turned into a tragedy that would haunt them forever.

The boys, bonded by friendship and shared dreams, had grown up together in the same neighborhood. Now, their parents will carry their memories to a grave marked by absence.

A City’s Wake-Up Call

The accident has once again raised questions about road safety in Greater Noida.

Helmets remain an afterthought for many young riders, and open roads like Pushta Road have become notorious for reckless speeding. Residents say that despite frequent accidents, stricter traffic policing is rarely enforced.

“This is a tragedy that could have been avoided,” said Suresh Yadav, a resident. “Four families have been destroyed. Maybe now, someone will finally do something.”

The Investigation

Police have confirmed that the car driver has been arrested and will face charges pending investigation.

Authorities say both the motorcycle and the car were allegedly speeding. A case has been registered, and statements are being recorded.

Meanwhile, the city mourns. Posters of road safety campaigns line the streets, but for these families, the messages came too late.
