Prayagraj: In a breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) of Lucknow has arrested two of the prime fugitives in the brutal murder case of roadways contract bus driver Ravendra.

The arrested accused, Irfan Ahmed and Mohammad Hussain, were taken into custody near Manikpur Railway Station in Chitrakoot.

Both had a bounty of ₹50,000 each on their heads.

This marks the fourth arrest in the case so far. Earlier, the Prayagraj police had arrested the main accused, Ali, and his accomplice Kamran in separate encounters.

Meanwhile, three more named accused are still on the run, and efforts are underway to trace them.

The incident dates back to October 21, when Ravendra was allegedly attacked with bricks and stones following a dispute at a petrol pump located at Mundera Chungi in Prayagraj.

The assault proved fatal, and he succumbed to his injuries. His brother, Rajan Pasi, filed a complaint naming seven individuals and four unknown persons in the FIR.

Initially, authorities announced a reward of ₹25,000 for each accused; however, with the suspects absconding, the bounty was later doubled.

Acting on a precise intelligence input on Wednesday evening, the STF apprehended Irfan and Hussain, who were constantly changing locations to evade arrest.

They were later handed over to Dhumanganj Police Station in Prayagraj.

According to officials, both accused have multiple criminal cases registered against them across various police stations in Prayagraj. Police teams continue to track the remaining fugitives involved in the murder.

Four accused have been arrested so far, including Irfan and Hussain. The search for the remaining named accused is ongoing,” said DCP City Manish Kumar Shandilya.
