Uttar Pradesh Diwas 2026 Celebrated on a Global Stage with Culture, Community, and Connection
The three-day celebrations marking Uttar Pradesh Diwas 2026 commenced on Saturday with vibrant programmes not only across the country but also in several parts of the world, reflecting the state’s growing global presence and cultural outreach.
Officials said that on the very first day, the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh was observed in nearly 20 Indian states and at around 15 Indian embassies and missions abroad.
The events highlighted the state’s rich cultural traditions, historical significance, and its ongoing journey of development.
On the international front, celebrations were held in countries including the Maldives, Germany, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Russia, Mongolia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and in Seattle in the United States.
These programmes brought together members of the Uttar Pradesh diaspora and local communities, who participated in cultural performances, exhibitions, video screenings, and interactive sessions showcasing the state’s art, heritage, and modern transformation.
Indian missions and consulates in Osaka-Kobe (Japan), Saint Denis (France), the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jaffna (Sri Lanka), the United Kingdom, and Lithuania also conveyed greetings and organised special engagements to mark the occasion.
An official noted that several embassies curated cultural showcases presenting Uttar Pradesh as a unique blend of timeless traditions and progressive growth.
A recorded message from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was screened at select venues to strengthen outreach and connect with people of the state living abroad.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the UP Diwas celebrations held in Lucknow on Saturday, adding prominence to the state-level events.
