Uttar Pradesh Enters a New Era of Law, Order, and Inclusive Development: CM Yogi Adityanath Marks Nine Years in Office

Marking the completion of nine years of the Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched a strong critique of the opposition while highlighting the state’s progress under his leadership.

He asserted that Uttar Pradesh has entered a transformative phase, particularly in terms of law and order.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the state, once plagued by fear, tension, riots, and curfews during festive occasions, now witnesses peaceful and harmonious celebrations.

Festivals such as Navratri and Ramzan are being observed simultaneously with mutual respect and dignity, reflecting a significant shift in the social environment.

He credited this change to the governance model driven by the “double engine” leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which, according to him, is accelerating development across sectors.

Speaking at a programme held at Lok Bhavan to commemorate the milestone, the Chief Minister unveiled the book titled “Nav Nirman ke Nau Varsh” (Nine Years of New Development).

He noted that events like Alvida prayers and Eid are now conducted peacefully across the state without any signs of unrest or disorder.

Citizens, he said, feel secure and can visit their places of worship without fear—something that symbolises a “new Uttar Pradesh.”

On the welfare front, Yogi Adityanath announced that the state cabinet will soon decide to increase pension benefits for the elderly, destitute women, and persons with disabilities.

Currently, more than 1.06 crore families receive an annual pension of ₹12,000, and the government is committed to enhancing this support further.

He also outlined several upcoming initiatives aimed at social and educational upliftment.

These include the launch of hostel and meal facilities for Sanskrit students, and a scheme to provide scooters to meritorious female students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Highlighting women’s safety, he reiterated the government’s commitment through the ongoing Mission Shakti programme.

In addition, the government plans to distribute tablets to over two crore youth to boost digital empowerment, with 50 lakh devices already distributed so far.

The Chief Minister further informed that a request has been made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Jewar International Airport on March 28, marking another significant milestone in the state’s infrastructure development.

He concluded by asserting that the government has worked beyond caste and regional considerations, ensuring that benefits reach all sections of society without discrimination.
