Speaking to the media on the first day of the beginning of the 18th Lok Sabha, PM Modi said June 25, 1975 was a black spot on democracy in this country.
The new generatin will never forget that the constitution of this country was totally dismissed on this day.
The country was converted into prison.
Democracy had been crushed.
The PM called upon countrymen never to allow repeat of this situation so nobody ever dares to clamp emergency again.
His third term was proof enough that people of the country have reposed faith in him.
This has happened after a gap of sixty years when the country has chosen its PM for the third consecutive year, said the PM.

Reacting to PM Narendra Modi’s statement on energency clamped in the country 50 years ago during congress regime, party President Mallikarjun Kharge said, the country was passing through a phase of unannounced emergency since the past decade. The people of this country ended this phase during the recently concluded polls.
The country was expecting that the PM of the country would speak on important issues during electioneering but the PM decided to blow the same old trumpet.
“In case you have become PM despite people’s verdict against you then you should delve on work related issues.”
Kharge said, opposition wants consensus in this alliance in the parliament. We shall continue to raise people’s voice both in the parliament and on the streets.
