Woman Advocate Assaulted, Stripped, and Filmed Over Money Dispute in Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ: A shocking incident has come to light in Prayagraj, where a woman advocate of the Allahabad High Court was allegedly assaulted, stripped, and filmed naked after demanding back her own money.
The ordeal began when she sought repayment of ₹2 lakh that she had earlier given to an acquaintance, who had promised to secure her a government advocate’s post in the Delhi High Court.
According to the complainant, she had known Love Kumar Mishra, a resident of Hanumanganj, for around five years.
Mishra allegedly took ₹2 lakh from her in multiple installments, claiming he could arrange her appointment as a government lawyer in Delhi.
When the appointment never materialized, she demanded her money back — an act that reportedly enraged Mishra.
The woman advocate has alleged that on September 10, Mishra, accompanied by Praveen Tiwari, Ankita Chaturvedi, Ritu Pandey, Ashish Tripathi, Niharika Sharma, Ashish Verma, Vivek Yadav, and seven unidentified persons, forcibly entered her residence.
They allegedly beat her, tore off her clothes, and recorded a nude video of her on a mobile phone. The accused then allegedly threatened to circulate the video on social media if she ever demanded the money again.
Despite filing written complaints with the George Town Police Station and higher authorities, the victim claimed no immediate action was taken.
Following the directions of the ACJM Court, an FIR has now been registered against the eight named accused and seven unknown individuals under various sections of the IPC.
However, Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar Singh said that the case appears to involve a monetary dispute between the two parties and that the matter seems suspicious at first glance.
He added that the FIR has been filed as per court orders, and a detailed investigation is underway.
The incident has sparked outrage in legal circles, raising questions about women’s safety, even among members of the legal profession.
