Yogi Adityanath Highlights UP’s Transformation: From Crime-Hit to Investment-Ready Growth Engine
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while speaking at the 36th Foundation Day of the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) on Saturday, asserted that the state’s commitment to a “zero tolerance” policy towards crime has fundamentally reshaped its identity.
He stressed that the principle is not merely a slogan but a mission that has been enforced rigorously at every level of governance.
According to him, this approach has rid the state of unchecked criminal networks, extortion, and mafia dominance, laying the foundation for a secure and orderly environment.
He stated that the transformed law-and-order landscape has positioned Uttar Pradesh as a benchmark for other states.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister inaugurated and launched 114 development projects valued at ₹408 crore, spanning multiple infrastructure sectors under GIDA.
In addition, he presented plot allotment certificates to five investors, part of a larger allocation of 115 industrial plots expected to draw investments worth ₹6,139 crore.
He also announced the allotment of 10 acres of land to Gita Press, an institution that he said has carried India’s Sanatan heritage across the globe.
Adityanath also inaugurated the UP State Trade Show, a three-day event hosted by GIDA to showcase industrial strength and business opportunities in the region.
Reflecting on eastern Uttar Pradesh’s economic journey, the Chief Minister remarked that the region was long overlooked post-Independence, with industries either absent or collapsing under the pressure of mafia interference and lack of policy support.
However, he stated that the landscape has changed dramatically, and today, leading industrialists from across India and abroad are choosing Gorakhpur and eastern UP as promising destinations for investment and development.
