Extreme heat not only affecting us but machines as well.

Coolers had to be placed at the Jankipuram power house at Lucknow in order to save costly transformers from catching fire or sudden blast.

Power department these days appears to be handling twin responsibilities…to ensure trouble free power supply as well as save costly equipments including transformers from conking out.

Almost all power sub stations in the entire state particularly in districts where temperature has gone unbearable were resorting to power cuts every now and then.

A power employee admitted current was being switched off at intervals in order to save equipments and transformers.

Quite a number of voters in eastern Uttar pradesh preferred to stay in comfort at home foregoing their duty to exercise franchise in our system of democracy.
