The Delhi police has arrested two persons, Naveen Kichi owner and Dr Akash on duty at vivek vihar child care centre where seven new born babies died in a fire sending shockwaves across nation and the entire world.

 

The doctor had reportedly fled the scene when fire broke out but police traced and arrested him.

 

According to reports, the hospital was functioning even when it’s registration had expired

Neighbours in their role as good Samaritans were the first to run and enter the building after scaling walls in order to save lives.

 

Delhi health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on the X handle says, he has asked the health secretary to update him about the situation and ensured that strictest possible punishment was meted out to those found guilty. ” I will do my best to ensure that culprits do not go Scot free. A proper and complete investigation will be done, added Bharadwaj.

 

The Lt Governor Delhi has also directed the chief secretary to constitute an inquiry to get the guilty to justice.

Sources said, Naveen Kichi, the hospital owner and Dr Akash have been remanded to police custody till May 30.

 

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had expressed grief over this tragedy has announced ex gratia help of Rs two lakh to the family members of children who lost their lives due to negligence of persons concerned.
